Nick Holdsworth

Nick Holdsworth is a British journalist, writer, and broadcaster. For many years he was based in Moscow. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine he left Moscou in February 2023. He has written for British and international media, such as The Times Higher Education Supplement, The Sunday Telegraph, The Guardian, The Christian Science Monitor, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter to name just a few. Since 2018, he was a Russian affairs commentator for the English-language service of French international television network, France 24. He is currently working on his memoirs of living in Russia during Putin's presidency – a follow-up to this first book on Russia, Moscow The Beautiful and the Damned – Life in Russia in Transition, (Andre Deutsch, London, 2000 & 2003) Nick has followed the Sufi path since the early 1990s and is a mureed in both the Sufi Order – initiated by Pir Zia in 2022 – and the Ruhaniat.
